Marshall Lowry is a composer, orchestrator, and multi-instrumentalist based in Seattle, WA. Born and raised in Austin, TX, Marshall grew up playing sax, flute, and keys in a wide variety of rock, jazz, and country groups in the Austin area.
Marshall earned his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Composition from the University of Texas (UT) at Austin, where he shared the stage with prolific musicians including Joshua Redman and Jeff Tain Watts, and was awarded the Eleanor Alexander Stribling Award for Excellence in Jazz Studies two years in a row (2014, 2015). After gaining professional experience as a performer, composer, and studio musician, he earned his Master of Music in Film Composition from the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program (PNWFS) at the Seattle Film Institute (SFI) in 2024.
Marshall has performed and recorded with various artists such as Dayglow, White Denim, Magna Carda, and many others. He has been a member of the group CAPYAC for over 10 years and recently performed with Reggie Watts. Marshall was recently honored as a semi-finalist for the 2025 Summermusik Cincinatti Chamber Orchestra Commission Competition and was nominated for Best Score at the Seattle Horror 48 Hour Film Festival.
Marshall has also been a music educator at the following institutions: Band Aid School of Music, Beyond the Grade, Westlake Lessons, The Bush School.
